My second son turned 6 months old yesterday and I have to admit how fast time has flown. He has transformed from a helpless, basically motionless little 7lbs 11oz baby into a grabby, active 15lb character! His personality has developed and he is mellow for the most part unless he is hungry and then he wails like a baritoned banshee. I have watched his infatuation for his older 2 year old brother develop and he can't keep his eyes off him. Their relationship is so special already and promises to be a great sibling bond. They laugh and crack their own jokes all day and witnessing their interactions is simply precious. Happy half birthday little "A"! Add Comment Looking forward to summer 2012 and spending as much time as I can outdoors exploring the city with my boys! Quality family time can be so simple but sometimes we get caught up in business and routines instead of sitting back and enjoying the little things in life. I plan to spend lots of time being silly with my boys and taking the time to breathe and enjoy the ride! The final countdown to the official Mother's Day 2012 begins...5 days to go! I've been celebrating unofficial Mother's Day = everyday, by trying to do something small for mysefl daily: pedicure, girls night, pair of shoes, 10 minutes of "me" time, etc). Reflecting on my journey through motherhood for the past year, I realize that I have grown as a mom, just as my toddler has grown. I feel more in control and less overwhelmed. I have also gained another wonderful son and have mastered getting out of the house and packing a baby bag for two! It's the small things that are important...remembering to pack baby bottles and toddler snacks as well as diapers and pull-ups! Being a mother requires hard work, dedication, strength, stamina, patience, understanding, time-management, excellent memory, versatility, intuition, communication, selflessness, compassion, spontaneity and much much more but I wouldn't trade my "mommy" title for anything in the world! Happy Mother's Day! |
