7 Thirtymommy Summer travel Must Haves
Summer travel is a must for my family to get out of the city and enjoy time away from everything. Now, that we are a family of 5, traveling and prepping for traveling can be a chore. This summer, we set out on a week long road trip and here are a few of my summer travel essentials.
Road trips can be long and boring for the little ones sitting in the backseat. Coloring books are a good option but personalized coloring & activity books from I See Me is an awesome idea. The boys absolutely loved coloring, reading and completing their very own coloring books during the car ride and even when they had down time in the hotel.
Striderite shoes/sandals
Summertime means spending lots of time outdoors and when we are traveling I like to travel with shoes for everyone that are comfortable and go with everything. Stride Rite offers a huge selection of shoes that are perfect for running around, exploring and playing in the water when your little ones are on vacation. The boys each chose a pair of marvel avengers sneakers (they love that they light up) and a pair of sandals.
During vacation, we are all usually stuck together in one small hotel room and there is no where to escape to. Having something for the boys to occupy themselves with is a must. Eeboo has a great selection of toys that are travel friendly. Their “Make Me A Story” Magnetic Playboards ($14.99) were a great way for the boys to spend their downtime. They had fun playing with the foldable standing magnetic easel and magnets in the Robots Landing magnetic playboard. They made up silly stories and “acted” them out using the pieces. They also played with a pack of ‘Create A Story” cards ($9.99) where we all picked a card from the deck and made up stories.
Le Top clothing
Simple outfits are a must when I am traveling with the boys. Le Top’s summer essentials has a variety of rompers, shirts, shorts and even swimming trunks that can be mixed & matched which is perfect for go-to vacation outfits. Baby “Q” is stylish and comfortable in his Le Top romper.
Traveling with an infant can be difficult especially when they fall asleep and you have been carrying them around all day. I knew I wanted to travel with a stroller but wanted to take one of our lighter strollers. I chose to take our Quinny Zapp Xtra and was happy I did. The Quinny Zapp Xtra reclines fully, adjusts to face two ways and has swivel wheels perfect for any terrain.
Traveling doesn’t mean that our vitamins stay behind. Rainbow Light Gummy Power Sours ($17.99) comes in single serve packets that we took on the go and the boys were able to enjoy their vitamins and take in twice the daily recommended value of Vitamin C and lots of extra nutrients they needed to keep them healthy and active on vacation.
This hands-free diaper is the perfect way for dad to carry around a few diapers & wipes when we are on-the-go. He loved the slim sleek design, small size and water resistant feature that is perfect for a vacation day out by the pool. He hooked it on his belt loops and had his hands free to run around with the boys. The Daddy Caddy ($19.99-$29.99) comes in a variety of colors & materials, so there is one for every dad’s style.
