Runkeeper, Momtrends & The Brooklyn Bridge
Disclaimer: This a sponsored post.
I am totally or a runner and normally try to stay away from too much strenuous physical activity. But, when I was invited to the Momtrends #MTrun across the Brooklyn Bridge to try out the new Runkeeper app, I was really cited for a couple reasons. I had NEVER walked/run across the Brooklyn Bridge even though I have lived in NYC for over twenty years now. I have promised myself to be more active and I have no clue when it comes to fitness apps, so I wanted to learn more about Runkeeper. We met early in the morning at the foot of the steps to the Brooklyn Bridge walkway and broke up into two groups: runners & walkers. The Runkeeper reps gave us an overview of the app which we had all downloaded on our smartphones, we synced our start times and took off across the Brooklyn Bridge. I was in the group of walkers and I have to admit walking with partners/company is much more enjoyable than doing it alone. I chatted with my fellow walkers, we slowed down to take in the breathtaking view and snap a few selfies. The Runkeeper app kept us up to date, letting us know our pace, distance and time periodically tracking our progress and even allowing us to share our accomplishment on social media, all within the app. I love all the user friendly features of the Runkeeper app: Goal Coach, Workout Comparison and Prescribed Workouts. But, the Runkeepr DJ is my favorite feature because I can import my own music and create a custom playlist that can play songs according to your workout pace! The Runkeeper app is FREE but you can upgrade your account. I am motivated to continue using Runkeeper and hopefully accomplishing some new workout goals in the near future.
