Blogging Hack From A Six Year Old
Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this post.
I’ve been blogging for about five years now and over the years it has become hard to find time to keep up with my scheduled posts, especially now that I have three small children to look after. I try to fit in time to write during naps, commuting on the subway or when the boys have gone to bed. But, often times I find that I end up catching up on much needed house work, getting a quick nap in myself or just vegging out in front of the television. Recently, I enlisted my 6 year old to start writing for his own blog, PlaygroundChefs, because it would a great way to help him with his writing, editing & technology skills plus it would be one less post on my calendar. I gave him a notebook to write his draft and an iPad with a window open WordPress to create a new post. His instructions were to draft the post in the notebook, bring it to me so we could edit it together then type and post it. So, I Left him alone to work and about twenty minutes later I heard him talking; after a few minutes, I decided to go investigate. I asked him who he was talking to, and he responded “I am talking to Siri”. I asked why and he said “I’m reading the post and she is typing it in”. It took me a few minutes to fully understand what he had been doing and I couldn’t believe that I NEVER thought of doing this myself! Now I am utilizing Siri to type my blog posts too & getting them up quicker, thanks #TristanReese
