Angry Birds Movie
Disclaimer: My family & I attended the screening and event as guests of SONY and KidzVuz.
Angry Birds has become much more than just a game…it is now a colorful empire which includes a feature film: Angry Birds Movie in theaters May 20th!
A few weeks ago, I attended a press junket and had the pleasure of participating in a roundtable discussion with some of the creators, product s and talent of the new Angry Birds movie along with some other amazing bloggers.
We were able to interview the creators of the game, the producers, Josh Gad ( who plays Chuck), Maya Rudolph (who plays Matilds) and Jason Sudeikis (who plays Red) almost any questions we wanted pertaining to their careers and involvement in the Angry Birds movie. Everyone was really excited to have been a part of the feat of taking a game and totally transforming it into a full length feature movie with a fun storyline.
My boys and I attended a Sony screening of the Angry Birds movie along with some other NYC blogger families at the AMC Lincoln Center. I wasn’t sure what to expect and didn’t really have very high expectations because I couldn’t really visualize how a game could be turned into an interesting movie with a real storyline. I have to admit that I was completely impressed after seeing the Angry Birds movie. My boys and I laughed through the whole movie…surprisingly, I think I had a few more laughs than they did. The Angry Birds movie was entertaining for everyone watching and best at of all you didn’t need to have clocked in several hundred hours of your life playing the game in order to follow the story and enjoy the movie. It as an original story that explained how Red became an “angry” bird and how his pent up anger eventually saved his fellow bird from the egg hungry pigs.
After the screening, we visited the Bronx Zoo where w had lunch and an intimate photo op with Red himself before attending the Live Bird Show at the zoo.
The Live Bird Show (through June 19th) features macaws, falcons, hawks, vultures, and many more. We got to see the birds up close as they flew around the audience and got pretty close. Everyone seemed to enjoy interacting with the birds at the sho and a few brave volunteers got to get up on stage and get super close!
The show was both informative and entertaining offering the audience some insight and background as to how the birds in the show got there and how we can help make their lives and the lives of there feathered friends still living on the wild better. We even made some donations which one of our are feathers friends gladly accepted!
Check out the Angry Birds movie this weekend with the whole family and visit the website to “Angrify” yourself!
