Creating and Saving with our 3D Coin Art

Since the school year started, we have decided to refrain from watching television during the school week. Instead the boys are expected to play outside, read/write, play with toys or we play games together. So, when I was asked to review a 3D puzzle/3D Coin Art set, I knew it would be a perfect fit for a fun family activity during the week.
Individually, we enjoy completing puzzles and haven’t really tried doing one together. The 3D Coin Art sets are the perfect opportunity for us to try a collaborative puzzle: because it includes more than simply piecing together various cardboard pieces. First, we needed to collect the required coins to successfully complete our 3D Empire State Building Coin Art puzzle.
The Empire State Building 3D Coin Art is a great way to count & store loose change, save $50 and create a conversation piece! The kit comes includes a coin tray, coin lid, stand, stickers, coin counter and instructions. The tray you exactly how many of each type of coins you will need to complete the project: we needed 357 coins: 123 dimes, 104 nickels and 130 quarters. The boys began collecting and sorting loose change every day in order to gather enough coins to complete the puzzle.
The 3D Coin Art sets are a great way to teach and reinforce coin recognition, coin value and addition with money all in a relaxed way. The boys didn’t even realize that they were busy learning and savings at the same time!
