Its Not Easy Being Green but Shiftcon Helped Me!
Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.
I attended my first ever Shiftcon conference held in New Orleans in December 2016. I really wasn’t sure exactly what to expect when I signed up…I understood that it was a conference that would introduce me to natural and organic products, ecoconcisous brands and lots and lots of green people. I consider myself to be very very very light green and am constantly looking for more affirdable ways to incorporate green living into my families everyday lives.
I was very surprised by how warm and welcoming everyone was at Shiftcon, including staff, attendees, sponsors, brand representatives and experts. I felt very comfortable which made it very easy for me to open up and absorb the wealth of information in the sessions: from the keynote speakers to the representatives on the expo floor. Many of my questions were happily answered and I was encouraged to ask more to help me on my journey to the level of green that I would be comfortable with.
There were over 50 brands on hand with organic/ NON-GMO products for us to sample and learn more about in the expo hall showcasing all sorts of products from 100% certified organic mattresses from Naturpedic, vitamins & supplements from MegaFood , BeautyCounter, The Republic of Tea, Applegate, The Organic Center, 100% cage free eggs from Nest Fresh, food from Annie’s Homegrown , dried fruits from Stoneridge Orchards, Stonyfield Organic, organic Three Twins Ice Cream, food from Simple Mills, safer laundry options from Molly’s Suds, Reserveage nutrition, healthy deodorant products from Primal Pit Paste, natural odor removing products from Fresh Wave and many many more.
I attended a sunrise yoga class sponsored by Boiron, taught by Megan Peters-Febuary, founder of Cedar & Soul. After the relaxing yoga session, we were given gift bags filled with Arnicare products that help you feel better faster by relieving everyday muscle pain and stiffness due to minor injuries, overexertion and falls.
At the keynote lunch sponsored by MegaFood, Dr. Tieraona Low Dog discussed her passion behind creating a simplified approach to helping consumers navigate the landscape of supplemental nutrition. She spoke about which dietary supplements are needed in order for our bodies to healthily perform the functions required for us to maintain good health.
I left Shiaftcon armed with new knowledge and guidance to continue pursuing my path to greenness as well as all these AWESOME products to try with my family!
