“I don’t snore” that was the story that I stuck to until my husband proved otherwise with a recording! I couldn’t believe that the grizzly bear like growling was coming from me…almost every night. Since accepting that I DO snore, I am always looking to find ideas/products to help minimize my nightly snore fests.
I was pitched to try the Rest-Rite, sleep positioner that promises to help you sleep on your side so you can breathe better, and I gladly accepted the challenge. The package arrived and I wasn’t sure what to expect: the box contained a week’s supply of 7 plastic cone like structures with adhesive on the rims.
The directions said To apply the Rest-Rite Sleep Positioner: peel away the disposable liner to expose the medical grade adhesive, place and press down firmly on dry, clean skin pr a snug fitting top.
So, I decided to try it out one night: I placed the sleep positioner on the lower part of my back. The idea is for you to sleep on your side, instead of your back, which helps keep your airways open and minimize snoring. At first, it felt strange having the positioner attached to my back but after a few minutes, I forgot all about it…until I naturally tried rolling from my side to my back and was met with a gentle poke in the back from the Rest-Rite sleep positioner reminding me to stay on my side. In the morning, my husband exclaimed that he wasn’t woken up by my snoring during the night which means that there was no snoring or it was extremely minimal.
The Rest-Rite sleep positioner ($16.99-$52) is great for snorers to help keep their airways open or people with injuries who need to be gently reminded not to place pressure on the area while sleeping. There is also a Maternity Rest-Rite sleep postponer which is perfect to assist expectant mothers to sleep on their sides instead of their backs, which obstetricians recommend.
