Healthier eating has been one of my top goals this year. I have cut out a number of ‘things” in my diet and have actively been a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to my daily meals. I cook for my family of five about 5 -6 times a week and I honestly do not want to spend more than an hour in the kitchen when I am making dinner.
Through the Moms Meet program, I was able to sample the Green Chef, meal delivery service and it IS awesome! There are options for families of 2 & 4 for Vegetarians, Vegans, Paleo, Gluten-Free, Omnivores and Carnivores. My package arrived in a temperature controlled box with everything I needed and it was already portioned and labeled! All, I had to do was unpack and refrigerate until I was ready to start cooking!

The first Green Chef meal I decided to make was the Lemon Chive Salmon with dill roasted red potatoes and mixed green salad. After reviewing the recipe card, f-studying the perfect finished meal picture and the 11 ingredients, I really didn’t believe that the meal could be made in 40 minutes which is the time stated on the card. BUT…45 minutes later, dinner was served and everyone enjoyed the meal…even asking for seconds:…which there was none of. Even my boys who are sometimes reluctant to try new homemade meals, cleaned their plates and confirmed how delicious everything was!
The instructions were very simple to follow and since everything was already portioned, there was no measuring or second-guessing involved!
The second Green Chef meal I received was the Italian Meatballs and Orzo with cremini mushrooms, lacinta kale, tomato sauce and fresh herbs. This meal consisted of 12 ingredients with a prep and cook time of 40 minutes total.
Again, the ingredients were clearly labeled and exactly portioned and only required a couple of additional tools: pot, cooking spoon, strainer, medium bowl, sauté pan, peeler, knife, cutting board, measuring cup, teaspoon and spatula.
Prepping the carrots, mushroom, kale and herbs took the most time and then I was ready to shape and make the meatballs.
I have to admit, I don’t make my own meatballs and have never made orzo but again the recipe stated that this whole meal could be completed in under 45 minutes…right. Surprise, surprise, I made the whole meal, including my own meatballs in 45 minutes and dinner was served family style!
My experience with Green Chef has been an exciting one and I have really enjoyed cooking new healthy meals with quality ingredients for my family to enjoy even on a busy weeknight! I will be cooking more and sharing my Green Chef creations on social media using #DinnerVictory
