Living in a big, congested, overpopulated city like New York City means that our air quality may not be the best. But, this was not something I thought about before having kids because I would routinely open my apartment windows to get “fresh” air. After having children, I became hesitant of open My my Windows because I was not sure what I would be exposing them to, so I opened my windows less and less. Now that we have moved out of our 1.5 bedroom apartment to a house almost 3 times the size, we now have more air to be concerned about. I have always been curious about air purifiers and since moving have started researching them for my home. I met the people at the Winix company at the WOW Summit who highlighted the benefits of having an air purifier in my home.
My boys have their own bedroom and a playroom that they spend lots of time in, so I have been contemplating getting air purifiers for these rooms to keep the air clean. I learned a few things from the Winix representative about their new HR1000 and NK105 models which are Wi-Fi enabled.
The Winix NK105 ($329.99) features an air quality indicator where the LED light changes based on the air quality (blue for good, orange for fair and red for poor) and automatically adjust the fan speed to improve the air quality. Plus the 360 all-in-one filter controls pet dander , odor and captures particles and allergens which can all be monitored and controlled using the WINIX Smart app.
The WINIX HR1000 ($379.99) air purifier is great to use in any part of the house, features a 5-stage purification system and notifies you when the filter needs to be replaced. Using the WINIX Smart app allows you to control the air from anywhere, track the air history and monitor the air quality in real time.
