Even though we live in NYC, there is so much to see & learn about this amazing city full of history, culture and fun attractions. We had the chance to take a land & sea TopView Sightseeing tour of New York City on their fleet of double decker buses as well as a Liberty Cruise around lower Manhattan.
The Top View Downtown and Uptown & Harlem hop-on- hop-off bus tours run throughout the day and riders are able to get on/off and explore the city sights on their own. The buses run approximately every 15-20 minutes at each stop.
The Top View Sightseeing double decker buses are equipped with automated tour narration and each rider is given a pair of earphones and even rain ponchos in case it is raining.
We decided to take the Uptown & Harlem Tour and were pleasantly surprised at all the new facts we learned about our own city!
The tour traveled from Times Square through the theater district along Central Park west, through the Upper westside then down 125th street in harlem before heading back down the other side of Central park and Museum Mile.
The TopView NYC All City Pass gains you access to the Museum of the City of New York which is open daily from 10am-6pm. The museum has a number of great interactive exhibits that cover New York City’s past, present and future.
Next, we boarded a Liberty Cruise for a ride around New York City. There are a number of these cruises that leave daily (reservations must be made in advance).
The Liberty Cruise takes a little over an hour and you get to sail by the Statue of Liberty, South Street Seaport, Ellis Island and the Brooklyn Bridge. The onboard tour guide shared some facts that we New Yorkers didn’t even know.
The views of the Manhattan skyline are truly spectacular from the boat and there are lots of opportunities for fun photo opps!
