Liberty Science Center is the place to be this summer! There are lots of new fun, interactive and educational exhibits that are sure to entertain and delight the whole family!
Dino Dig (included in general admission ticket)
This hands-on exhibit allows junior paleontologists to dig for dinosaur fossils alongside knowledgeable volunteers who actively engage and encourage the curiosity of the young adventurers.
This outdoor Dino Dig exhibit is a realistic fossil dig site where more than 60 fossils are waiting to be unearthed many of which are replicas of those discovered in Montana by Jack Horner, the famed paleontologist who inspired Jurassic Park.
There are a number of fossils to uncover including T.rex bones, an egg nest, a baby Maiasaura, a 6ft long Triceratops skull and even a dragonfly! Plus the Raptor Zone with complete skeletons of a Velociraptor and a Deinonychus. My three boys who range in ages from 3-8, each enjoyed digging up the fossils and learning cool dinosaur facts.
Grossology (included in general admission ticket)
This premium (requires an additional admission fee), gets down & dirty explains all the GROSS things about the human body!
The Grossology exhibit is a super interactive one that explores all the slimy, oozy, crusty, stinky questions you have about your body!
You can climb a “wall” of skin, check out the inside of a nose (including hanging nasal hairs), play a larger than life-size game of Operation, slide through a mouth and much much more!
The story book world of Elwood City is brought to life in this fun exhibit! Guests are encouraged to read & learn when visiting a number of the iconic settings in Arthur’s World.
Visit Arthur’s family kitchen to cook up a meal for the whole family, dress Arthur up in one of his seasonal outfits or explore Mr. Ratburn’s classroom.
Pick out a book or two from the Elwood City library or be the librarian and help eager readers find what they need. You can even audition for an upcoming show at the Lakewood School Auditorium and using Chromakey technology, you can see yourself on the big screen!
While visiting Liberty Science center, you MUST stop by the Jennifer Chalets Planetarium (4th largest in the world) & LSC Giant Dome Theater. This technologically advanced theater features a 60 ft screen, can produce over 281 trillion individual colors, projects a resolution of 88 million pixels!
There are currently a number a selection of totally immersive features playing at the Jennifer Chalets Planetarium as well as daily laser shows in the LSC Giant Dome Theater.
“Wonders of the Night Sky” (35 minutes) is a live exploration of space and planets
“One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure” (30 minutes) is perfect for the littlest astronomers! They set out on an adventure with some of their favorite friends from Sesame Street to learn about the stars and Moon.
“To Worlds Beyond: Journey through the Solar System” (35 minutes) is a full dome movie tour of the solar system with a live talk about the night sky.
