Six Flags Great Adventure, the World’s Ultimate Thrill Park, debuts its biggest and scariest Fright Fest in park history this fall! The Northeast’s Largest Halloween party runs weekends and select days September 15 through October 31 featuring over 25 Halloween-themed shows and attractions, including the absolutely terrifying Hell Fest maze based on the new horror movie, Hell Fest.
On our Fright Fest visit this year, the boys decided to dress-up in costumes and really get into the Halloween spirit AND we decided to stay past 6pm for Fright by Night and brave the zombies, ghouls, and demons!
First, we checked out some of the classic family favorites including the Trick-or-Treat Trail, Professor Slithers’ Creepy Critters, Spooky Kooky Magic Show and of course a ride on the Carousel and the Enchanted Teacups.
The whole park is decked out in seasonal decor including hay stacks, spooky spider webs, creepy clowns, costumed characters and of course pumpkin that make great backdrops for fun pictures.
At 6pm the Arrival ghoul parade commenced and the undead wandered aimlessly through the park, often stopping to offer a quick scare or even pose for a picture. The boys were even brave enough to enter Big Top Terror: Forgotten Carnival in 3D. This walk through maze, located in CarnEvil seemed never-ending with glow-in-the-dark clowns, decor and even a pitch black mini curtain maze. Luckily, we all made it out in one piece and after that experience the kids were ready to head to the “No Scare Zones” to spend the rest of their evening at Fright Fest.
One of this year’s stunning new mazes, Hell Fest, will depict scenes straight from the movie including:
• The Mausoleum, an increasingly narrow corridor that forces guests to feel the touch of death;
• The Mask Room, a haunting room filled with floating white faces that could spring to life when visitors least expect it;
• The Doll Room, filled with dolls straight out of the worst nightmares; and
• The Torture Chamber, where the bodies of the disassembled, dissected and disemboweled wish to share their horrific ending.
Room by room, guests must find their way out, or risk being trapped by “The Other,” the movie’s deranged antagonist.
