My family loves reading and we often read books together. Finding children’s books with diverse characters, positive themes and engaging storylines Author, Deidre Cummings, has written several books that do just that and my boys loved reading them. Her work includes: Heart, My Trip to the Beach, If a Caterpillar Can Fly, Why Can’t I?, My Dad’s Job, Love Is…,Think of It Like This!, Kayla: A Modern-Day Princess, and I Want To Be a Bennett Belle.
We received several books to read and each one was filled with diverse characters that my sons really enjoyed seeing. They particularly liked the book, My Dad’s Job, about a boy who learned how to be a man from his dad.
Cummings, also has a couple of motivational coloring books like, If a Caterpillar Can Fly, Why Can’t I? filled with affirmations, positive words and goal setting pages.
