As the days get longer, we want to spend more time outside and less time in the kitchen. My slow cooker has become a lifesaver! I use it about twice a week to make meals for my family which frees up some of my time to get out and enjoy the water weather. This dry rub slow cooker whole chicken is easy and only takes about 5 minutes of prep work.
Ingredients:
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp anon powder
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp Omaha Steaks Signature Seasoning
- small whole chicken (4-5 lbs)
- 2 smal onions
- 2 small
- potatoes
Mix dry rub ingredients together and throughly rub it all over the chicken (even inside the cavity). Cut each onion and potato in three and lay the slices on the bottom of the slow cooker. Place chicken on top on sliced onions and potatoes. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours, let cool and enjoy!

Growing up my grandmother used to make seasoned chicken for the family. She was such an excellent cook and this brought back sweet memories.
