I grew up making Easter Eggs and wanted to share this sweet tradition with my children. I remember paining eggs, dying eggs and a couple more super messy ways of decorating eggs when I was a child. I tried making crayon resist eggs with my boys and it was an instant hit! They really enjoyed coloring on the eggs with crayons which gave them the ability tomato them more personalized.
Materials:
- Crayola glitter crayons
- hard boiled eggs
- empty egg carton
- small glass bowls
- white vinegar
- food coloring
Prepare hard boiled eggs and let them cool thoroughly. Follow the directions on the food coloring package to mix up the colors you want using warm water and vinegar.
Use the glitter crayons to draw the surface of the hard boiled eggs. Get creative, make polka dots, stripes, spirals or even words! Place one egg in the desired dye and let sit for for 5 minutes. Then turn the egg over and let it sit for another five minutes.
Turn the empty egg carton over and place dyed eggs on it to dry completely. When dry, hide for some fun egg hunting!
