The Workshop at Macy’s 2019 Vendor Showcase and Reception at Macy’s Herald Square in NYC featured 15 brands from seven states and Puerto Rico. The program provides emerging high-potential minority-and women-owned businesses with the tools to better succeed and sustain growth in the retail industry since its launch in 2011. The one week intensive guides participants through master classes including building brand identity, managing business relationships, financial management for sustained growth, high impact business conversations, maximizing assortment plan and production life cycle, and more. The group will learn from a consortium of Macy’s leaders including President, Hal Lawton and Chief Diversity Officer, Shawn Outler in addition to retail leaders from Babson College, Facebook, Diverse and Engaged, and Carol’s Daughter.
These finalists were chosen out of almost 3,000 applicants and featured a swimwear, self-care, women’s apparel, men’s apparel, fragrance, pet apparel, skincare, haircare and handbags. I had a great time sipping, shopping, celebrating with the finalists and learning more about their brands. Here are a couple that I really loved!
Fe Noel is a womenswear designer from Brooklyn, NY with a love for travel, bold prints and vibrant colors. Her Caribbean heritage can be seen directly reflected in the collections.
Mair is a soft and light fragrance with undertones of Jasmine, Italian Bergamot and Amber is an eau de perfume reminiscent of traditional French perfumes.
The Tayion Collection features men and boys fashion suits with a flair of urban sophistication that will elevate the style of any gentleman.
