My kids LOVE dinosaurs and my 4 year old has been a dino-lover from birth, collecting dinosaurs, wearing dinosaurs and learning all about these amazing prehistoric creatures. So, he was totally amped to visit Field Station: Dinosaurs in New Jersey: a family attraction filled with magnificent life sized dinosaurs which was fun for dinosaur lovers of all ages.
Field Station: Dinosaurs features over 30 live shows, games and daily activities to help your young paleontologist learn and explore pre-historic times.
There are more than 30 life sized animotronic dinosaurs along several outdoor walkways showing them in what could have been their natural environments of tall grasses, terse and hidden trails.
Each species of dinosaur is identified and you are given some facts and fun facts about them including proper pronunciation, when they were discovered, where they were located, their diet and even what their names mean.
Each junior paleontologist is given a Credentials booklet at the beginning of their journey and can collect stamps by visiting specific exhibits and performing a couple tasks like watching a live show in the amphitheater (T-Rex Feeding Frenzy, Dinosaur Daycare and Field station Challenge) successfully making it through the Raptor Trap.
The fossil dig site is an open area where adventurers can uncover large dinosaur fossils buried under sand. If you want to get a little more technical, visit the Paleontologist’s Laboratory (for an additional fee) to unearth actual fossils that you can take home!
After all this exploring, any scientist would be famished…if you didn’t pack a snack (you are able touring in your own food), don’t worry, there are a couple options for lunch including dino shaped chicken nuggets!
