The story continues in the newest Spiderman movie, Spider-Man Far From Home! Our favorite superheroes travel around the world on this adventure to defeat the villains and save the earth once again in a surprising twist and turn of events. The movie kept us glued to our seats, laughing, pondering and entertained.
We were particularly intrigued by the super-villain Quentin Beck aka Mysterio, a sophisticated special effects “wizard”. His iconic helmet inspired us to create our own lava lamp globe using a bit of Science.
MATERIALS:
- Alka Seltzer Effervescent tablets
- food coloring (blue & green)
- vegetable oil
- water
- empty Martenelli’s apple juice mini bottle
Fill the empty bottle 3/4 full with vegetable oil.
Then slowly add water to fill the bottle, leaving some space at the top.
Add 4 drops of blue food coloring and 2 drops of green food coloring to the bottle.
Break an Alka Seltzer tablet and drop it in the bottle then cover quickly.
Watch the tablet create eruptions that resemble the swirling gases in Mysterio’s helmet! You can reuse this lamp and continue to create eruptions by adding more Alka Seltzer tablets.
