My boys are avid viewers of PBS and have been watching the commercials and singing the “Molly of Denali” song while patiently awaiting the premiere!
Straight from Alaska to homes all across the “lower 48” Next Monday, July 15, a brand-new children’s series, Molly of Denali, premieres on PBS KIDS (check local listings). This groundbreaking animated show for kids 4 through 8 is the first-ever national children’s series to feature Native American leads.
In each adventure-filled episode, young viewers join Molly, her dog Suki, and her friends Tooey and Trini on their daily, nature-fueled outings in Alaska – from dogsledding and ice-fishing to volcano-watching, moose-calling and more! Whenever something exciting happens in her (fictional) hometown of Qyah, Molly shares all about it on her vlog, giving kids all across the U.S. an up-close look at her life in Alaska.
As we get ready to watch Molly of Denali…we started doing some research about Alaska. We found this great Crayola printable that features the flag and some fun facts! There’s even a Molly of Denali podcast, where families can get to know Molly and her world in advance of the show’s premiere!
