Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey is just a short drive from New York City and in the summer, visiting the Hurricane Harbor water park is a great way to beat the heat!
Float along the Lazy River, ride some of the 25 water slides, make waves at the wave pool or simply lounge in the 100 gallon beach-entry style pool at Calypso Springs: the newest activity pool at Six Flag’s Hurricane Harbor.
Calypso Springs features a giant obelisk-style fountain with erupting geysers in the center of the pool, a giant open lounge deck with hundreds of chairs for sunbathing that are easily accessible from the pool as well as oversized umbrellas for some shade.
We spent most of our visit hanging out in the pool at Calypso Springs and staying cool, it is the perfect attraction for kids of all ages and their adults. My boys enjoyed swimming, splashing, making friends and playing in the water till the park closed.
There is also a new dining option in the area, Calypso Grill where you can purchase or refill your souvenir cups with a refreshing drinks or purchase food like chicken fingers, french fries and sausage & peppers! All attractions are included with Hurricane Harbor park admission, Membership and Season Pass.
