School Break Staycation at the Even Hotel Midtown

If you do not plan a vacation way in advance for the school break you may be like us…stuck at home but needing a change of scenery. Planning a full out getaway when schools are off for a family of five can be extremely pricey and I have to think of other options. Living in NYC, offers us more than enough attractions for us to visit when the kids are off BUT sometimes everyone just wants to sleep in a new bed. So, during the most recent school break, we headed into midtown Manhattan and checked in to the EVEN Hotel Midtown East for a couple days.

The EVEN Hotel Midtown East is a family friendly wellness hotel that offers a number of relaxing activities for guests of all ages and it is conveniently centrally located for planning outings.

The boys and I checked in and headed up to our room where they claimed their sleeping spots, unpacked and made themselves at home. We showered, climbed into bed, ordered some delivery and watched TV together. Even though this is something we could do at home, it felt much more like a real vacation doing it in a hotel room where mommy did not have to worry about cooking, cleaning or any other household duties…I could just enjoy the moment!

The open space lobby is a great place to play some board games, enjoy some delicious snacks from the Cork & Kale™ Market and Bar, relax on the terrace or even finish up that vacation homework packet the kids received! After exploring the area, we found a great diner, The Comfort Diner around the corner and enjoyed a hearty breakfast then headed to Grand Central Terminal to do more exploring before heading back to the hotel to hang out on the terrace playing giant Jenga and taking in the view.

All we needed was a couple days at the EVEN hotel Midtown East to reset, relax and relate with each other over the school break. This was the perfect way to get away without breaking the bank and return to business as usual a little more rested!
