Clifford’s Science kits for kids is a series of simple science kits for kids ages 3 and up that introduces them to Science in a fun, educational and hands-on manner. Even though, these toddler science kits are for children, the experiments shoals be performed under close adult supervision at all times. The Clifford Rainbow Science Kit teaches all about rainbows and colors.
What are some simple Science Experiments? Many complicated Science concepts can be easily explained using the scientific method and performing simple experiments.
The kits come with most of the materials you will need to perform the experiments and most o the additional materials are probably around your house: (milk, oil, food coloring, dish soap, water, fork, paper, baking soda, vinegar).
How do you do a simple experiment at home? Many simple experiments can be performed with everyday household items you find around your house and a small clean workspace.
What are some good Science Experiments? A good kids Science experiment is one that is hands-on where children can actually see, hear, feel what is going on.
After, looking through the little booklet provided with the Clifford Rainbow Science kit, my son decided he wanted to complete the “Colored Bubbles in a Tube” experiment first. So we read what was needed and gathered the materials:
- clean test tube (part of the kit)
- test tube holder (part of the kit)
- vegetable oil
- food coloring
- measuring cup (part of the kit)
- funnel (part of the kit)
- water
We followed the instructions carefully, making sure to measure and add just the right amount of vegetable oil and water to the test tube. Then, w added a couple drops of different colored food coloring to the test tube.
This simple Science experiment illustrates that the food coloring mixes with the water but the colored water and oil do not mix. But, when the test tube is “shaken up”, colored bubbles are formed. Some of the other experiments in this kit teach about primary colors, secondary colors, chromatography and even how to make your own rainbow! These are some of the best Science kits for kids.
