Everyone knows and loves Clifford the Big Red Dog from the Norman Bridwell books. This red furry friend is coming to the big screen on an adventure filled with friendhip, love, acceptance and the celebration of being yourself!

CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG, opens in theaters and on Paramount+ this Wednesday, November 10th!

When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!

CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG has been rated PG for impolite humor, thematic elements and mild action.

We made these Easy salt dough recipe no bake ornaments inspired by Clifford the Big Red Dog! These ornaments are NOT EDIBLE.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of table salt
  • 1/2 cup of cool water

Materials

  • rolling pin
  • parchment paper
  • round cookie cutter
  • chopsticks
  • red acrylic paint
  • paintbrush
  • red ribbon

In a large mixing bowl, stir together the all purpose flour and salt. Slowly add in the water while stirring the dough until you get a Play-Doh like consistency. Form a ball with the dough and knead for a couple minutes. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky or more water in the dough is too dry.

Place the dough ball on a piece of parchment paper. Use a rolling pin to flatten out the dough to your desired thickness. Use the round cookie cutter to cut out circular shapes to create the shapes of the ornaments.

Create Clifford’s paw print on the ornament by using your fingertips. Use a chopstick to make a hope at the top of the ornament to make it easy to hang.

Finish off your ornament by placing it in the microwave and ONLY microwaving it 10 seconds at a time. By microwaving them for 10 seconds and checking means that you are able to avoid over-cooking and burning them. If, after 3 minutes of microwaving in these short increments, the ornaments are still a little wet, just put them back in the microwave for 10-second increments until they are done

After your ornaments have cooled, carefully paint the paw print impression red, let fully dry then use the ribbon to create a hanger for them.
