Spring is in the air BUT there is still lots of skiing to squeeze in until the season is over! We took a trip back up to Windham Mountain (23 trails & 3 lifts on 165 acres) to hit the slopes on a beautiful spring-like day. Even though the snow was beginning to melt, we were definitely able to get lots of fun runs in. We are a family of 5 including 2 strictly skiers, 2 strictly snowboarders and my youngest son flip flops between both.
We arrived early and spent most of the day enjoying the scenery, weather and of course the uncrowded slopes. We rode together and separate, taking breaks, fueling up at the Mountain Express Cafeteria and enjoying some Apres Ski drinks at the Umbrella Bar.
How is Spring Skiing Different?
Skiing in the Spring is pretty unpredictable, the condition of the snow can be firm, slushy or somewhere in between. By this time of year, the lift lines are usually much shorter and the slopes are less packed.
Is Spring Skiing Good for Beginners?
At this time of the year, the snow can be more packed offering less resistance which makes it a bit easier for a beginner to navigate plus the weather usually isn’t as cold as it is earlier in the season.
