The 2023 ski season is in full swing and we decided to plan some family ski trips to visit some new mountains. Our first official trip was to check out a couple resorts in New Hampshire: first stop was Wildcat Mountain (about 6 hours from the Hudson Valley), one of the most scenic mountains in the East located in the White Mountain National Forest.
I picked up my Epic Pass from the front desk, rentals from the Wildcat Rental and Tune Shop located on the bottom door of the Wildcat Base Lodge and we all checked in for our lessons. The boys headed to The Lion’s Den (ages 4-14) where they participated in a full day of lessons. I believe that is it a great idea to take a refresher lesson or two on your first time out for the season or when you are visiting a new mountain to get familiarize with the trails and terrain.
Is Wildcat Mountain Owned by Vail? Yes
Does Wildcat Mountain have a gondola? At this moment, Wildcat does not operate a gondola or enclosed lift during the Winter season.
Can you snowboard at Wildcat? Yes, there are over 2100 feet of skiing and snowboarding terrain for all skill levels.
How many trails does Wildcat Mountain have? There are 48 trails
The Polecat is the longest novice trail in New Hampshire and the summit is 4,062 feet. Check out the trails at Wildcat Mountain here. There are over 2100 vertical feet of skiing and riding terrain for a variety of ability levels.
Our experiences in our lessons definitely made us more comfortable on the mountain and excited to explore confidently, after refueling at the cafeteria before heading out again.
Our day at Wildcat Mountain was packed with smiles, lots of laughter and winter memories that are sure to last a lifetime!
